okay, so I think my favourite part about surveyfail is the fact that THERE IS ALREADY FIC ABOUT THE 'RESEARCHERS'. well, I also like how fandom's reacted to the whole thing. good times, fandom. good times.



PS holy shit my final major work for high school is due in like four days, and I'm reading fic instead of finishing it. WHY, SELF. WHY.


ETA okay now I've gone past vaguely irritated and very amused, and have just hit properly annoyed. I think I might go to bed and stay offline for the next few days, until it all blows over.

yeah, their crappy way of going about things, their inability to warn for sexual content and potentially triggering questions, and their failure to listen to any advice ever annoyed me a little, but it was at about the point when they decided that "shemales" was an appropriate term to use that I found myself genuinely full of rage.

fortunately, the rest of fandom seemed to be with me on that one, as that was also the point when we started macro-bombing the shit out of them.

yes! oh my GOD.

i reached BLINDING RAGE myself around the time they were doing the whole slash=straight dudes liking transsexuals explanation thing. at first it was so dumb it was kind of funny, then they were saying all that shit about how the reason they were the same is because "culture" thinks they are wrong and transgressive or something, whereas lesbian porn is "okay". and just failing to get, over and over and OVER, just WHY fake girl-on-girl performances intended for straight males are "okay" in our culture. SO MUCH STRAIGHT MALE CISGENDERED PRIVILEGE MY HEAD EXPLODED.

oh god, now i want to punch him in the balls ALL OVER AGAIN. the shemales comment was just the cherry on the giant steaming heap of FAIL.
